What is stress
Simply stress is the body’s response in any person due to any mental pressure placed upon him or her.
Stress equation:
S(stress)= P(pressure) > R(resource)
Which means when pressure from a stressor is greater than coping resource then stress automatically happens.
Stress feelings:
feelings of frustration,
anxiety,
anger,
depression,
worries,
tension.
Stressors which can initiate stress in any person:
1.Trauma or illness.
2. Overloaded work schedule
3. Lifestyle changing like not sleeping early, using phone too much, watching television more, living in the room with overcrowded room mates, noisy environment, Bright light using in sleep without turning off light.
4.Death of close person.
5. Breaking up a relationship with boyfriend or girlfriend
6. Divorce
7.Economical struggle
8. Arguing with boss in the office
9. Rude behavior experience gathered from neighbours
10. Sudden economical loss in business
11. Sudden fired up from job
12. Unemployment
13. Unmarried status even after 40 years!
14.Growing credit card bill
15. Quarreling with wife
16. Not happy in family life etc.
Stress effects on the human body:
Neurological system-
headache, memory loss, confusion, feeling of head burning, migraine.
Cardiovascular system-Increasing blood pressure(hypertension)
Endocrine system-Diabetes mellitus by increasing sugar level, excessive saliva secretion from salivary gland, excessive sweat from sweat gland
Eye system-pupillary dilatation
Respiratory system- Rapid breathing or breathlessness.
Gastrointestinal system- indigestion
Superior extremity and inferior extremity involvement - paralysis, excessive movement of hand or leg.
